Thanks for the comments, everyone. Mary Ann, I watched the 1st two years’ worth of Art:21 a couple of years ago while I was recovering from a little minor surgery — they are wonderful, and I’d like to own the whole set some day. I didn’t remember the Maya Lin piece specifically, but I did find a tiny video of it online: http://www.pbs.org/art21/artists/lin/index.html#
It’s the one called Making Atlas Sculptures. Fascinating!

I remember making paper with my daughter, years ago. I still have some of it. I can’t wait to see what you end up doing for your project.

I don’t know if you ever watched Art21 on PBS but in the first or second year they had Maya Lin the architect/sculptor who takes old Almanacs and cuts holes into them which makes them look like topographical maps. Could be an interesting concept.

I’ve only done paper making once but found it very therapeutic. Love the blue piece, beautifully textural.
