They are getting smarter now and trying to make them look like real comments, probably in hopes that you won't delete them or spam them. I thought I had Akismet already, but when I checked I discovered it was not active because I did not understand what an API key was. I think I have that resolved now, and hopefully this problem will soon go away. It's just amazing to me how ingenious people are at subverting the system for personal gain. If only they would use their powers for good instead of evil! Some of them are identical. I use Blogger though and they came on a new post minutes after I published it. I don't understand the purpose of these comments, am I missing something? But you probably might need to do what I've done - I've got a plugin that closes comments after a month as these types of spam comments tend to focus on older posts. That catches almost all the spam for me. It's one of the wordpress plugins, I didn't know about it until Lisa wrote a post about a year ago, but seems to work well.
