Your school experience will carry you for a long long time but you are right to savor it. I think non-traditional students understand the glory of being a student more than those who may be following a different time-frame.

Then again, you could have 100+ rolls of undeveloped film in the freezer, such as I have.

Beautiful balance of what are my favorite colors in combination: Scarlet, salmon, and cerulean blue.

Go with your vision! I have a solo show coming up in March that I’m creating 21 new pieces for and a solo show coming up in September that I’m creating another 30 pieces for.

It can be done ;-)

Wow, a post with a surprise twist!
Congrats on your decision. I can totally see the value of not adding stress this semester. And I can’t wait to see your thesis show. By the way, I’m really glad I had specific projects waiting for me after I graduated. It has helped me make the transition to life after school.

Lisa, you are indeed amazing. No way I could ever hope to make that many textile pieces in that amount of time. Paintings, maybe … if I got someone else to build the panels. I will definitely take you up on the dinner offer!

Having just spent 7 weeks creating 28 new quilts for my show because I had a vision – I would have voted the other way. It has been mostly a fun experience.

But then again, I missed our meeting because I was rushing to meet a deadline and was dead tired. So there are trade-offs with pushing oneself that hard. I do have to say it was enormously satisfying yesterday when the show was hung to see my vision come to life.

But still it is good to come to a decision and you will have much spare time in March so I shall invite you to dinner in March.
